Compatibility
Here you can find all about phone (and tablet) compatibility with the Iristick smart glasses. Since not all phone manufacturers follow universal standards or fully implement all aspects of e.g. the USB stack, we offer these guidelines on what to look for in a compatible phone.
These guidelines are for reference only. If you want to be 100% certain about a specific phone's compatibility, please get in contact with us.
Android
For Android devices, the Iristick smart glasses generally support phones (and tablets) with the following configuration:
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon, Samsung Exynos or Google Tensor processor (SoC)
- A USB-C port with host-mode
- At least Android 11 installed
We often experience compatibility issues with phones from certain manufacturers, even if they appear to meet the specifications above. These include but are not limited to:
- Huawei
- OnePlus
- OPPO
- Xiaomi
Info
It can be difficult to confirm whether a phone's USB stack is fully and correctly implemented. Therefore, the only way to be certain is to test the connection. We are happy to perform this test for you. Please get in touch.
iOS
The Iristick smart glasses work with iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads. There are no specific hardware requirements, other than selecting the correct connector type (Apple Lightning or USB-C) for your Iristick device.
Furthermore, you must have iOS (or iPadOS) 17.0 or later installed on your device.
Note
Note that the Iristick.G1 (PRO), Iristick.G2 (PRO), and Iristick.H1 smart glasses connect via a Pocket Unit. These Pocket Units are available with USB-C (Android), USB-C (Apple/iOS), and Apple Lightning (Apple/iOS) connectors. You must use the correct version for your phone.
The Iristick.G3, however, uses a single, universal USB-C connector. You do not need to choose a specific USB-C version for Android or iOS; the same connector works for both.
Actively supported phones
We collaborate with clients to maintain a list of actively supported phones. This means that before each new software version is released, we test it against the client's specific phones and configurations (e.g., Android or iOS version) in collaboration with their IT team.
Please get in touch with us if you are also interested in active support for your devices provided by our testing (QA) team.
