Templates

Templates define what data you want to collect in the field — and in what order. You create them in the Iristick.Collector Portal, then use them on your smart glasses via the Iristick.Collector Mobile App.

Think of a template as your digital field form: each step is a trait, score, or action to record.

Why Templates Matter

A well-structured template:

  • Keeps data consistent
  • Speeds up collection
  • Minimizes errors and guesswork

Create a New Template

  1. Go to the Templates tab in the portal sidebar
  2. Click New → Template
  3. Name your template and add a short description
  4. Start adding steps (called “fields” in the app)

Each step includes:

  • A name (e.g. “Fruit Size”)
  • A data type (number, text, predefined list, barcode, image)
  • Optional: unit label, default value, or field-specific settings

You can reorder steps.

Keep step names short and distinct. There's not a ton of display in our smart glasses.

When You're Done

  • Click Save to store your template
  • It becomes available in the Iristick.Collector portal and app for all users in your workspace you shared this with.
  • You can update and share a template anytime
