Voice Commands

Voice commands are the core of the hands-free experience in Iristick.Collector. Once you start an observation session, you can navigate, record values, and control the app entirely by voice.


Command Action
"Next Item" Move to the next step, or loop to step 1 on a new asset
"Previous Item" Move to the previous step, or loop to the last step of the previous asset
"Move Up" Jump to the previous asset while staying on the same step
"Move Down" Jump to the next asset while staying on the same step
"New Record" Move to the first step of the next asset (create new line)
"Previous Record" Move to the first step of the previous asset
"Pause Observation" Pause the active observation session
"Stop Observation" End the session and save data

General Commands

Command Action
"Add Note" Add an ad-hoc transcribed comment to the current asset (you can add multiple)
"Add Picture" Add an ad-hoc picture to the current asset (you can add multiple)
"Clear Value" Clear the value at the current step
"Clear All Values" Clear all values for the current asset
"Enable Microphone" Re-enable microphone listening if turned off
"Disable Microphone" Disable microphone listening (use touch to re-enable)
"Enable Auto Advance" Automatically go to the next step after entering a number
"Disable Auto Advance" Stay on the current step after entering a number

Barcode Commands

Command Action
"Start Scanning" Activate the barcode scanner
"Stop Scanning" Deactivate the barcode scanner
"Zoom In" Zooms the smart glasses camera in
"Zoom Out" Zooms the smart glasses camera out

Picture Commands

Command Action
"Open Camera" Opens the smart glasses camera on a picture card
"Close Camera" Closes the smart glasses camera
"Capture" Take a picture using the smart glasses camera
"Zoom In" Zooms the smart glasses camera in
"Zoom Out" Zooms the smart glasses camera out

Text Input (Speech-to-Text)

Command Action
"Start Recording" Begin speech input for a text field
"Stop Recording" Transcribe and insert spoken input

Number Input

Say numbers digit by digit.

  • Example: 235 → “two three five”
  • Example: 1.0 → “one zero”

Or full words with separators like "dot", "comma", "point".

  • Example: 2.35 → “two point thirtyfive”
  • Example: 70.230 → “seventy dot two hundred thirty”

This ensures accuracy in voice recognition, especially for decimal values.
